A few n00b questions about the showdown

Postby Saidub » Sun Sep 12, 2004 7:21 am GMT

Can someone please help me out with these?

1. at the showdown, in what order do players who are still involved in the hand, show their cards?

2. If you would rather muck your cards then show them, is this allowed?

thanks in advance guys!

I don't actually know the rule 100% but I think it is from the dealer button round clockwise just like in a normal round of betting.

You are allowed to muck your hand if you like, although some home games will disallow this. Where I used to play, we didn't have a rule disallowing it but it was 'gentlemanly' to all flip your cards at the showdown.

Whoever is calling view the other persons cards I believe. If he or she loses they can muck the hand.

Whoever gets called must show first. So let's say there are three people in the hand, A, B, and C. If A bets $10 on the river, B calls, and C calls, then A must show first, then B, then C.

If A bets $10, B raises to $20, then C calls and A calls, then B shows first, then C, then A.
