just a little something to get off my chest...

Postby BrianGre » Sat Jan 03, 2004 10:14 am GMT

Now i'm not one to normally rant about bad beats... I consider myself the epitome of one of the tag-lines I see here... "that's poker".. because I have received and dealt bad beats.

So I'm not going to talk about bad beats here, but rather poor sportsmanship...

The only site I play currently is UB and it seems to have a notoriously bad rep for the dreaded "UB River"...

I'm playing this morning and have pocket As... I draw someone out who had pocket 7s and they flopped a set.. I got another A on 4th street and win...

One of the other players chats "That's UB for you"... now my way of thinking is that pocket As should beat pocket 7s so there is no bad beat there... anyway...

a few hands later, I have pocket As again (weird I know)... and another player goes all-in pre-flop so I call... the flop comes AxT... then T ... then x... the other player has pocket Ts... so I lose...

but no one says a flippin' word about how bad it is for TT to beat AA...

ignore this if you like, I'm just a little ticked this morning about attitude not about poker...

At least your AA didnt lose to a 32... Guy calls a raise cold with 32, hits a 2 on flop and then on the turn. just my luck.

i think its cuz of the flopping a set of 7's THEN flopping a set of A's is what the 'thats UB for you' meant... i mean i could be wrong
