Poker chip set
I was trying to deside if I should get higher amounts. I was thinking about (100/$1),(100/$5),(100/$25),(100/$50),(100/$100),(100/$500),(50/$1000),(50/$5000),(50/$10000)/:(number of chips/dollar amount of chip)
what do you guys think is this too much or just right. Let me know the (#/$amount) if you think I should change. I will probly have 8 players and will play for smaller amounts. I just think it would be cool to play every once and while with the big chips and see how much I can get or how bad I lose for fun.

I had not thought about that until last night a figured out how much all those chip would be in $AMOUNTS. I still am not sure how many chips to get I seen so many different numbers from different people but they have all be different. I though you guy would have a better idea because you actully play poker like me. Unlike the shops that have just want to sell me something. Thanks.

Chip numbers are all relative. Having chip values from 1c to 1$ means the lowest is 100 times smaller than the highest. Same if u have $10 to $1000 dollar chips.
It all depends how many chips you are gonna buy and whether they are gonna represent real money. If it's a direct real money representation, u gotta ask how rich u and ur friends are and assess it from there. If the chips are merely to represent real money, go with something like $25 and $100 chips. I find that works best.

Chip Value!
If you buy a poker chip set, with the real clay chips you usually have 3-4 color types. If you are playing with real money perhaps 1-5-25-100$ chips that is how most places make their increments. Though if you want a cheaper game, 1-5-25 cents-1$ could be good. If i have my home game i have red, white, blue and black chips with values as follows. White 1$ Red 5$ Blue 25$ and black the all great 100$ as they are in casinos.
