What are the odds?

Postby RATM » Sat Jan 15, 2005 1:29 pm GMT

Me and my brother play Holdem all the time and it's getting annoying now for this reason:
my brother thinks he's so good so he says he's got a good fealing about this hand and will go all in. I'll call him with AK off sute and he will show me 4 5 off sute. The flop will come and there will be something like a A 2 3 which gives his a streight. Things like that happen all the time. Am i makeing the wrong call, or is he just plain lucky?

You're making the right call, he's stacking the deck. AKo is a huge favorite over 45o. Not sure exactly what the number is, but keep in mind if you're a 51% favorite it's a good call.

alrihgt thanks for the help, as long as I'm makeing the right call I'm happy. I'm going to watch him for bottem deealing if you were serious, and if all else fails I'm just going to stop playing him.

I don't know your brother too well, but that comment was not very serious.

AK vs 45s is probably only 57% (I'm not going to bother to look it up, that's a guess off the top of my head) favorite. Decent, but not great.

You're brother is an idiot. Mark him as a fish and take his money.
