Question about denominations.
My boss is designing a custom ceramic chip. He may sell them in a group buy or something, but he's not sure yet. If he does, he was curious as to whether he should include $1 denominations or not. He isn't going to make $0.25 or $0.50 chips, so if you were going to buy a set that didn't make those denominations, would you have any use for the $1 chips or would you only use $5-1000 for tournaments?
Thanks
Thanks

I personally would not use it very often and could live without it. However if I was buying a set of Chips I would like to have them.

Okay so would you say it's in his best interest to design a 25 or 50 cent chip? Basically, what I'm asking is if you were going to get in on the group buy, would you prefer that he had low denomination chips in addition to higher denominations so you could use them for both cash games and tourneys?

I would not buy anything lower than a $1. However everyone will have different needs so instead of having a $.50 and $.25 chips have two blanks that can be used for any denomination.

Unless he is adamant about the 50c chip, I think it makes the most since to have a 25c, $1, $5 etc...

obviously I didnt read thr original post very well. Uhh, no I dont think there is any use for the $1

If they're mostly for tourneys, I would leave off the $ altogether. If you want others to go in on them though, you'll probably need a $1 and .25 for cash games. I wouldn't bother with a .50 though, .25's can be used instead.
