really annoyed with getting timed out and card game freezing

Postby really annoyed » Wed Mar 10, 2004 6:43 pm GMT

3/10 I don't know about the rest of the people out there but I have been to a dozen or so online poker rooms and find they all have one problem in common and that is that so many players at so many tables are getting the boot, or getting timed out, and it happens to me as well and there are even times when the entire table freezes and everybody is given the boot. I don't know about the rest of the playing public out there in cyberspace but it seems to be a frequency that is getting chronic. And to add insult to injury, when given the boot or knocked out of the playing room, you're not given enough time to get back in and more times then not, YOU'RE LOSING MONEY AS WELL. When I complain to the support teams, it is never their problems, it is the individual player and you are the one who has to take corrective action. That's bullsh.... It is annoying because it is chronic with all the poker rooms and they don't care. They got you by the gonads and I find it very annoying. I just wrote to Pacific Poker today, March 10th, 2004 about the problem with their poker room freezing up and they thanked me for my email of February 26th, 2004. Can you believe it? How frustrating can it be. I am annoyed and I'm wondering if there is anyone else out there who has experienced the same problem? Would appreciate any commentary. Thank you. FROM REALLY ANNOYED

Play at UB almost exclusively and see some monor lag almost every session, but not horrific. They have in recent times had the site go completely down, and THAT SUCKS. At least they have gret customer service and will refund your tourney buy-ins no questions asked. They have been better this week (4 me at least) and have only experiance minor lags.

I guess the standard "That's Poker" quote can be extended to "That's Online Poker". I get ticked from time to time, but where else can you play poker in your boxers or run to the fridge or bathroom on folded hands. Nature of the beast to some extent I guess. I just deal w/it.

Wot sort of Internet connection do u have? If it's 56k or something pretty poor then it's more likely to be at ur end. I'm sure it's not but who knows?

I have never had a problem ay UB worthy of note, they are very good at keeping their site up 24/7.

Very good Point Geno.
I use a cable modem with good upstream speed.
When I'm getting lag others mention it in chat too.

3/10 To both Geno and Puck. I've had both cable modem connection with roadrunner (Time Warner) and dsl (Verizon) and have seen the same problem exist for both myself and OTHERS AS WELL. It is not just my particular problem, I'm seeing it occur time and again with others online also. True it is still fractional but on a daily basis, it adds up believe me. I really would love to see an independent team of auditors do an inquiry into all the poker rooms to see how many times a day it happens and how much money is lost by ALL PARTICIPANTS. These poker rooms are making it hand over fist in terms of income and for the past several months that I've been playing, I see it happening time and again at many different websites to so many different participants. I believe this is a worldwide problem that exists and that needs attention so that those playing poker are not taken advantage of. It may only be nickles and dimes but there are millions of hands played every day. It should be brought to the betting publics attention as well as the poker rooms. From Really Annoyed and thanks for your replies, appreciate your interest.

I doubt the poker rooms are doing it on purpose to steal money. Quite the contrary actually... they'll make more money and have a better customer image the more the site is up and running flawlessly. JMHO.

If I ever feel I'm being cheated I'll leave that site and take my money elsewhere. Maybe you should shop around.

Good luck 2U.
