Flush Question

Playing in a Hold 'Em Tournament, there are three spades to a flush on the board, and there are two people left before the river. One goes all in because he has pocket King of Spades to the flush, the other matches him because he has pocket Jack of Spades to the flush. The river card turns over, and it's the Ace of Spades. Who should've won this, or should they have split the pot? Advice, opinions?

Well, first off, going all-in with a flush draw on the river when there are 3 spades on the board is a bad idea, but anyway, the guy with the King of spades wins. Their hands are like this:

A: As Ks Xs Xs Xs
B: As Js Xs Xs Xs

Player A wins.

So just to clarify, when determining a winner for a FLUSH hand, you go by the highest card (in this case the Ace), and since that was a community card, you go by the NEXT highest card in each person's hand, correct?

Yep. Whether on the board or in the hands you count it down from highest to lowest. The person with the highest in their hand wins. If the highest five card flush is on the board then it is a split pot.
