Crystal Oyster Chip-Info Needed

Postby Playboy » Thu Apr 01, 2004 1:27 pm GMT

Who owns the Crystal Oyster Casino chip from Chipco? Does this chip have an edge spot? Is it ceramic? Please tell me anything you can about this chip. Thanks in advance.

You can buy them from Chipco for $0.70 a piece... they have non-traditional edge spots. You can get a good look at the edge spots here:

They are a ceramic ProTech chips used by many casinos.

Ash…do you actually own these chips? Are they indeed ceramic? If so, the price from Chipco seems to good to be true. They really don’t say on their web site if they are the Pro Tech series in the Home Products section.

I have samples of THE exact chips and it is the ProTech series for sure. They feel exactly like the Chipco casino chips. Chipco deals in huge volumes so they can sell direct to the public for cheaper than some others. They will require you to buy 100 chips and you need to pay $3 for the rack to hold the chips. It is $73 per 100 chips + shipping. You can order as few as 10 of each denomination. Most people dont know this and pay stupid amounts on eBay.... Also check their "Casino" home gaming set, they look very very nice...

I saw those Crystal Oyster chips on ebay and I thought they looked good. I have some Chipco casino chips in my collection and I like them quite a bit. Nice chip.

They really grow on you... at first the graphic dont seem sharp but you adjust. They feel fabulous and are easy to shuffle, etc.

Still, look at the color you can get on those things! I think they've totally changed the way chips look--pushed the envelope. I hope it doesn't become the chip of the future, dominating the casino scene the way the TH&C's did, because I'm a huge Paul-Son fan. Still, credit where it's do. I'd love to have a thousand or so of those for a home set. (Now that I 've safely tucked away my Paul-Son's for posterity.)

Forget tucking them away! DUMP THEM while the market is STUPID! When I first looked at getting nicer chips only 2 years ago you could get Paul-son TH&C chips for $0.40 per chip! Now they are going for 3 to 4 TIMES that! Even the Isthmus knock offs are going for $1+ each... INSANE!!!
