NL Online Cheaters

Postby Dave B » Tue Apr 06, 2004 9:41 am GMT

I have been playing a little NL ring games at PartyPoker and am ready to go back to limit.

twice last night I was cheated:

Me BB w/ A4 I call a small raise, flop A 7 3. Raise bets 2xBB, I everyone fold I call. Turn 3, Get bets 2xBB again I call. River K w/ a posible flush, I go all in. I put him on a A w/ a good kicker but likely not big slick. I figured he would think that I slow played trip 3s in the big blind or hit a flush. If he called, I figured that it would be a split pot.

I had like $70 and my opponent had $20 to start the hand. The pot was about $15 and he had $12 remaining. He gets disconnected. Coincidence? I think not.

This later happened w/ me having KJ and losing to KQ when KK was on the board. I went all in when a flush draw hit, wasnt called after he disconnected but lost the hand. I had 4 to the flush w/ the river coming and he checked aften the 3rd heart hit. Yeah I saved a few bucks this time, but it still pissed me off. If you arent going to call an all in-then dont play NL.

You HAVE to report the assholes who disconnect. IT is a MUST!!!! I cant stand it when a punk ass disconnects just to not make a decision. The online poker rooms really need to do away with disconnect protection.

What's the disconnect protection do if it's forced?

You can also reset this almost daily. I have only needed it twice in almost a year of playing online.

I agree with nicthestick on this one, Dave... I haven't seen it a lot, but there was one tourney I was in where this one guy consistently would get disconnected early on with big decisions..

Supposedly if they are reported and the table logs prove the disconnects then they will be suspended. I'm sure they can't prove intent, but if it happens often in the same scenario it's pretty damning evidence.

Very interesting.
That's sucks if it's used to cheat.

I play at UB and have seen people get dis-connected from time-to time. Usually they are re-connected and finish that hand...most of the time anyway. I guess I'll have to pay closer attention, but to this point it's never cost me a pot.

I imagine the sites would want to root this crap out as it will cost them $ in the long run if their site get a bad reputation. Report the losers is all youcan do. If they have a logged history of this behavior I'm sure they'll be escorted to the virtual door.

I was playing a heads up game for 10$ each. And the guy I was playing disconnected and never came back. His hands were just folded and i eventually had all his money.

POKERSTARS my friends. I have experienced this time and time again, i was ready to throw something. I play at PS's now and their cash tables dont have all in protection and the tournys, dont either, you have 15 secs to act and if you have money in the pot already, it gives you 60 secs alotted from your time bank when that runs up, its mucked, so its call or be folded eventually.
