Geno caught spamming!

Postby PuckJunkieNY » Tue Apr 06, 2004 2:31 pm GMT

 OK, OK...maybe not spamming exactly. He was just sharing the URL for this site/forum on UB chat during a NL multi-tourney he was playing. He got chummy with another player and put it out there for him to check out. I consider that a worthy and useful spam anyway, so it doesn’t count. :D

I must say I enjoy finding forum members at UB tables, lurking and chatting it up. Sometimes I've played at the same table (Nicthestick & General Sal aka- General Ante on UB). Mostly just chat and cheer for while at my own table.

Oh yeah... Geno (Geocidal on UB) did very well placing in 3rd place at that tourney....good for approx. $350 if I recall correctly. I attribute his fine showing to my pressuring him with the threat of posting the play/hand history of any poorly played hands by him to this forum.. Of course he countered with threating to delete me from the forum  Yikes! Touche. Good job Geno.

BTW Geno- I ended up plus $75 for the day playing at .15/.25 NL tables exclusively, and 90 out of 1500 in a tourney. Not bad. At my last table that evening I got killer cards and won about 19/44hands...other players though I was full of crap and bluffing alot, they would call on principal, but I kept winning. Hilarious! That does not happen often for sure.

I Look forward to seeing you and others at UB.

Nice 1, we had a good day yesterday for sure Puck :)

I had hit up a good reparté with that guy Gossin (I think) mainly cos he was the only non-american/canadian at any of the tables I played at all night (Irish). I chucked him the URL so that he could check it out that is all......honest.......

I'm deciding now whether to hit a $100+9 Aruba tourney. Dunno yet, am gonna leave it a few days and have a think. I do fancy a nice trip to Aruba for some poker and I know my girlfriend is more than a little keen to drink cocktails and sit on the beach while I sweat over poker with the big boys 8)

PS. If I make it on to the TV, I'll ask Adam/Carson for a TexasHoldem-Poker.com T-Shirt and be the ultimate spammer

I didn't trust he was from Ireland at first (so many people pose a fantasy location), However when I told him I have family in Cork area he mentioned that he lived not to far from there in Waterford. I figured since he knew the geographical relation he wasn't posing. You would know better than I anyway as you conversed w/him more. Hope he checks it out here.

Try it if you like. I'll cheer you on mate. Heck, we'll get a bunch of forum members to cheer ya on. It worked for that other player I told you about on the $500 +30 Tourney. FOR THE REST READING THIS... I am refering to a player on UB who I have played against/with at .15/25 NL rings. I put him on my buddy list (mostly to avoid  ) and noticed he was playing a big $ tourney. I popped in midway through it and he was doing quite well. I kept tabs on his game while playing mine (Thank God for UB mini-table windows). Well, he got to the final table with a shorter stack and quite the cheering section. A bunch (8-10) of us lower $ players were pulling 4 him. He ended up rallying and taking first in the tourney. He won $20,000 and a Aruba trip... Outrageous! He must have been doing back flips.
Anyway Geno...maybe you'll have the same fortune. I agree...the girlfriend probably won't protest the beach cocktails.

If you do buy-in to the Aruba tourney, I will also be cheering you on! We will have a whole cheering section!

However, on a different note, I would suggest using your winnings to buy into a $13+1 SnG tourney. First gets a TEC, second $20. That way, even if it takes you 6 tries with a second-place finish, you'll have spent $64 to get into the normally $109 tournament-I've noticed that you're very experienced at the UB tables;I'm sure you could get a TEC without spending >$50.

Good luck!

That's not a bad idea, I didn't realise those $13+1 paid like that (I need to do my homework more I think!). I'd best play at a nice early UK time so that most of u will be in bed and not able to spectate in case I come in 10th or something

You cannot hide Geno. Anyway, UB has this unique algorithm linking it's observer chat to the hole/flop cards dealt to a player. The more people you have cheering for you by using specific key words combined with a player's name, the better hole/flop cards you get. That *theory is 100 percent proven successful. See example in my earlier post.

*Theory disclaimer - Theory is based on case study of 1 tourney observed where a cheering squad was present and may not prove successful for other subsequent tourneys with said cheering squad. Neither the theory’s author nor UB can be held accountable for a non-money placement.
