Q-7?

Postby snarf » Sat Jul 10, 2004 7:40 pm GMT

has anyone ever heard something along the lines of queen-7 being the best hand to have because it has so many possibilities? I don't quite believe it myself, but was wondering if anyone else can shed some light on it.

I think that's waaaaaay wrong! U need four cards to make a straight, if u hit a pair it's gonna be middling and even if they are suited, u r unlikely to call a pre-flop raise with them unless u r well stacked (or drunk)

Yeah I don't know where you heard that but even suited that's a bad hand. Middle suited connectors are the best against A A because of all the posibilities but Q 7 is a definite fold for me.

OK, I think I know what happened here. Either someone told you this and they misunderstood someone, or you misunderstood someone when they told you this. Q, 7 is known as the "computer hand" or something like that because someone ran calculations and figured out that Q,7 is the exact middle ground in Hold'em Starting hands. It falls right in the middle of A,A and 7,2. (see what kind of useless knowledge you can learn while watching the WPT?)

Hope that clears things up.
