Don't know how/why you did it but you definitely lost the minimum on that hand granted the board didn't straighten up on the river. Based on no prior info, I would have probably reraised low4show to about 1500 total and 50/50 called his shove. However in this case I would have chopped :-D

i dont get this level of poker at all, how can 2 sets and an over pair give a free card on that draw heavy a flop.

This hand is a good example of bad play from all players involved.... good educational hand to analyze.

I wouldn't go as far to say he played it poor but I also think this is a good example of why hands like 10-10, JJ, and QQ can be tricky to play. I personally would never call a 3xBB raise with QQ for the very reason of what happened on the flop but I'm not going to argue against his play.

I just know that over the long-run, the value I get from making big raises pre-flop with a hand like QQ against opponents' A-x/K-x outweighs the value I give up when I run into and get crushed by AA/KK.

i dont have much love from the ladies according to pokertracker, infact i've dropped nearly a buy-in with them (only over 400 or so hands though and included a stinger of a bad beat - Me QQ, Villian K9, Board - QK959 and got it all in on the flop)

however, im never folding QQ to a PF 3 x BB raise as it is a hand with so much equity. With position as well im sure its worth seeing the flop.

Ahhhh ok I see what happened here. When I said I would never call 3xBB with QQ I didn't mean fold, I meant re-raise LOL.

Result oriented.

Though I don't mind PF sometimes, especially if you are able to fold it when it seems obvious you are behind.

Did you retype the board correctly? As posted, you have won this hand, or are you down a buy-in with QQ anyway?
