question about mucking
If I call you and you have me beat and I muck . Then a players asks to see my cards. Do I have to show them ? I know if I was the one BEING called not calling I have to show regardless. Been a steady argument at my weekly game. the "poker god" says you have to show at a show down regardless. I said only if you were the called . Caller doesn't have to. I sited Pstars and how they give option to muck or show. He responded with the fact P stars will show you mucked hands if you review hand history.
So in a show down does everyone have to show if requested or just the called hand ?

if you bet and everyone folds you don't have to show them crap. if they insist just stand up, pull down your pants and tell them to kiss your pasty white ass.
(in pstars you will not be able to see your oponents hand in the HH)
now if you bet and someone calls....
1) if someone bet or raises and another calls then the agressor shows FIRST. (so if player 1 checks, player 2 bets and player 1 calls... player 2 opens their hand and player 1 can either muck or open their hand)
in this case if player 2 wants to see player 1's hand then they can ask to see (on pstars you can look at the HH and see the cards they folded)
2) if no one bets and everyone checks players have to open their hands in order of action.
in this case. say player 1 is bb, player 2 is MP and player 3 is OTB..
on the river... player 1 checks, player 2 checks, and player 3 checks. Dealer says open up. player 1 shows their hand, player 2 can either muck or show their hand to take the pot, then player 3 can either muck or show their hand.
you can request to see any of the folded hands in this case (pstars will show all the players' hands in the HH)
what happens is asking to see a mucked hand is kinda bad form. nothing really wrong with it but not done that often. I'll tend to do it at the casino in a really big pot where i folded to an AI or villian did something really weird...

Correct, provided it has not been mixed up in the muck pile. Sucks huh.

Re: question about mucking
Can anyone at the table request to see mucked cards like that or is it only players who were live in the hand to the end? I hope it's not everyone but I have a feeling it is. That seems way wrong to me if so

Re: question about mucking
it's anyone.
but honestly I really like the rule. as long as it's not overdone...
to stop all those idiots who bluff hard and when called ask you what you got what i've started to do live now it just say," I got the straight or set" so they can muck their hand really fast then take my pot without showing or even to spite open my Ahigh hand and take the pot after their hand went into the pile...

It's a great angle to shoot, I've considered trying it a few times in the past but have not yet done it because if someone did it to me they'd be wearing the chair they were sitting on.

At casinos this is a house rule. You need to know how it is played before you sit down. I've seen two variations:
1. Any player dealt cards in the hand can ask to see any hand that was live at showdown. (This is what PS implements. If you were dealt cards you can see all cards in the replay or HH but if you are at the table but haven't been dealt in yet you can't.)
2. Only a player with cards at showdown can ask to see another live hand after showdown.
I am never shy about asking to see cards that I'm entitled to see at showdown if I want to see them. That is usually if someone was aggressive at some point in the hand but didn't win.
I have two other personal rules about showing cards:
First, if I am calling down someone to showdown and they try to get me to show my cards first I will always say, "No, I called, I want to see your cards." On only one occassion did a person try to muck and I told the dealer that I wanted to see the cards and he showed them.
Second, if the table folds to a player and he flashes his cards to a neighbor (I see this with some regularity, actually) I will always insist on seeing them.
I am polite and friendly at live tables but won't stand for someone trying to get an edge on me. I've never had difficulty from dealers in showing what I wanted to see (because I've always been right).

Re: question about mucking
Is mucking considered as foul? Is it the dealer’s responsibility to nip in the bud of dead cards from coming back out of the muck?
