Question about what Im doing wrong
Hey guys, I'm new here and have a few questions I would like to ask. Some might sound so dumb to others but since I have only been playing poker for about 4 months; I have to ask them. Ok most tournys I play are for fake chips, and I just played 11 games of the Quad shoot out to get into WSOP. I have came in 2nd loser 7 times, one time being second loser to the second shootout.
I seem to have problems with the last player and thier larger bank roll. It seems they always c/c/c/r. And of course I do not have a pair, so What do I do but fold. The the blinds are taking me.. so? My question is, what am I doing wrong. How can I make it this far.. for me that is and never pass the small hump. Sorry if this sounds real stupid, but like I said Im new and willing to get some critism for the appreciated advice. thanks
oh and forgive me if I dont know all the poker terms

If you mean you are playing heads up then you basically need to loosen up what hands you are playing from the start of the tournament and start playing a lot more aggressive. It's going to be very difficult to tell you what's wrong without seeing some of the hands you have played.
Post some of the hands here and we will see what we can do to help you improve.

Yeah hands histories would definitely help.
But I can recommend a couple of books to help u get the fundamentals right:
Harrington on holdem 1 and 2, and the work book
IF u get these books u will have excellent grounding in mtt strategy and theory

I have seen people post their hands, but Do not know how to do that. To be honest, I;m sure people will make fun of me, like the Q3 guy. I will if I knew how to post them. I mean I have to get better some how. Ok heres an example of what I have done.
NL 25/50
my hand KAo
flop is Ks Ah 10h
of course i raised prflop and then flp. the guy calls on me.
the turn is 5c
i raise he calls
the river is 6h i raise he calls all in, under me by 3-400 chips. i call. he has a flush. i lose like that all the time.
sorry if its not clear, im still new to this. i will post when i learn how. thanks for your advice.

Depending on what poker site you are playing on, you will find there is a hand history option where you can copy and paste the hand.
By the way, in that hand you gave as an example, heads up there isn't much you can do about it.

for the most part the guys here will help out with what you need to fix or any questions about the game so dont be worried about anyone making fun, at least not at first.
It will be difficult to find one or two specific hands unless you remember/write down the hand number then track it down and copy and paste it here

There are a lot of ppl who can run like god through a tourney and crash and burn when it comes to heads up. If this is where you are having problems I would suggest 2 things: read up on heads up stragety and play some heads up matches, there are plenty of 2 person matches u can get into for like $1.
