Question on Cash Game Money Management - HELP!!
i had been playing mostly 1 table 6 man sng's and then i decided that theres too much luck involved with those, ie horrible bad luck against me, so now im moving to 6 man nlh cash game.
what im wondering is what is the appropriate method to determine how long to play - should i set an amount i want to win & play til i get that, or play for a set period of time? or something else? or just see how it goes each time. thanks!!

play until you feel you don't play your best.
When I feel like I making mistakes I'll often tell my self, if I make two more mistakes I stop this session.
A mistake is a mistake even if the outcome is favorable, ie if you decide to call an AI on K79 with 66 its usually a mistake, even if you hit 8 and 5 to crack a set of K.
TBH sometimes when I run real good and have logged a nice win I might stop my session a little earlier then usual, its just feel so much better to log a big win then a small one or worse - a lose.

Beware mate, you’ll pick up bad beats in cash games too. In fact you’re bankroll might suffer even greater swings than you picked up from SnG’s.
But it might be worth trying it just to see if you prefer the format and strategies differences. A change can be good sometimes. Plus it’s worth experimenting to see what’s most profitable for you.

id be doing a lot better on the cash games if my pocket aces vs ace 10 last night for a $400 pot eventually didnt come flop a ten, then he turns a ten, when im 92-8 preflop, 92 - 8 postflop, then he hits one of the 2 cards in the deck to suckout, and of course i couldnt make a fullhouse or flush on the river. what a joke.

I suffered the same fate getting frustrating beats in S&G, when this happened I would go to the Cash Tables and found I could recoup my S&G losses quickly, I would then log off and go to bed thinking how wonderful I was. Then I decided that Cash Games were the way for me. Yep I started loosing at Cash Games frustrating beats etc, I would switch to S&G to recoup my losses. No that didn’t work either; I now stank at S&G’s and Cash Games. I persisted and found my way, knowledge and time is what you need to be a winning player, I am making the time and getting the knowledge and I am a winning player but its never that easy. You must try to find your way.
