question on post-flop position
hi, i have a question on position. obviously, i'm familiar with pre-flop position: under the gun first to act all the way to BB last. however, once the flop comes out and going forward from there, at the tables i often find myself confused on who's turn it is. in fact i really have no idea, and also don't know whether raising, etc has any impact on the position. i am 100% dependent on the dealer. could anyone here outline how the rules work in regard to this? that would hep me a lot. i hate playing and being this clueless. thanks!

No worries. The player with the dealer button will always act last on each round of betting after the flop. The players to the left of the dealer button, starting with the small blind will act first and in order for the flop, turn, and river betting rounds. A good rule of thumb is to wait to act until the player on your right has acted already after the flop UNLESS you are the small blind and you act first.
Raising does not change your absolute position on the table as the action will still take place clockwise from the dealer button.
Hope this helps.
