Realistic Win Ratio For Experienced Players ???
Hi All,
I have been playing poker for a couple of months now, and am starting to get an understanding of the game. I play most days for at least an hour, usually $0.25/$0.50 6 handed Limit ring games. I sometimes take part in quick 6 handed S&G tourneys as well.
My question to those that consider themselves well educated in the game, and above average players is:
How often do you realistically expect to come away from the table a winner?
Also if you played six S&G tourneys (6 handed) a day, how many of them do you feel you should come away with a place prize ie: 1st or 2nd.
I know everyone wants to come away a winner from every game and tourney
, but what is the realistic win ratio of a decent player?
I hope the question isn't too ambiguous, I am just trying to get a feel for what is a good run, a bad run, and an average winning streak.
Thanks in advance for any comments.
Steve.

Generally it’s better to think in terms of Return on Investment rather then how often you finish in the money or have a good session.
If you’re really interested keep a record; How long you’re playing for, what type of games, what sites, how much you’re winning/losing. A the end of a year you should be able to see how much you’re making as a % of your bankroll, which is a better figure to judge how thing are going from.
A year or more is a good amount because it takes into account variance, you might have a good week or even month and think you’re really on top of your game when you’re not. Likewise you might be playing well but loosing a great deal.
