Rebuys

Postby Jonniedough » Sat May 23, 2009 12:49 pm GMT

I dont play rebuys that often.

If you rebuy before the tourny starts whats your reasoning?

If I bust out thats when I tend to rebuy or now ( im in one as I speak)as the blinds get to high for the rebuy to be worth it or in the final seconds of the rebuy period. Which I just did.

Blinds 50/100
me 1405
rebuy and addon
me now 4705
Average 7098
I should read my tournament poker book, but Ive been running pretty good in MTTs I dont want to jack my game up just yet

Always rebuy at start, gives you that many more chips, especially useful when u pick a good hand and someone shoves. Always add-on, I've had the addon drag me from the short stack a few times.

I only rebuy at the start if enough players at my table do personally because I don't want to miss out on the chance of stacking every one of them early if the chance arises.

I'm not sure there is a huge advantage if you are the only guy to rebuy from the start, in fact it probably subconsciously opens your range in the first levels and makes you too spewy. Over a large set of results, I think that would come out negative but I'm guessing a lot here!
