Reverse timing tell

actually, I was just playing a single table at 200NL today.

So because of this I got to pay a bit more attention to the players.

If you can pick out the serious fish, which isn't all that hard to do(doesn't necessarily apply for lower limits, they're very distinguishable at 200 imo) , you can pick up some timing tells on them, because they make no serious effort to disguise it, and in general are playing a single table.

I found them accurate-ish, but nonetheless useful, seeing fish should be ur main source of income, right?

Seriously. The crazy calls I see at NL25 stagger the imagination. I've practically given up being tricky at these limits, except for the rare regular that I have a good read on.

i wouldnt put any chips in purely on a timing tell, but its worth thinking about it. to dismiss it entirely would be a mistake.

Indeed it all comes down to weighting and confidence (similar to some A.I. methodologies used for decision making).

As MrD said there’s a lot of information available but we need to consider how useful it is. Betting, timing, chat comments, even the players name. If the players called i0wnzUrCh1p5 does it means he’s a 13 year old kid who stole his dads CC and has no idea how to play?

I was thinking of starting this as a new thread but might as well just mention it here.

Recently if I’ve been playing in an SnG or I get late in a MTT I start to Google some of my opponents names. It’s amazing how quickly a little searching can bring back some real gold. The best usually being forum posts from the people which often gives a lot of insight into what kind of play you can expect from them.
