Ring Giveth &Tourney Taketh Away
In the last 2 days I've had a couple of good $50NL sessions that added just over $100 to my BR. But then I just dumped almost all of it back in tournament buy-in's
AQ vs JT lost -$25
AQ vs A7 lost -$25
TT vs A6 lost -$25
I don't know. I enjoy cash games and they're basically where I build my BR (recently anyway) but they just don't compare to making a final table and knowing you're going to pick up a good size lump of cash.
Does any get this feeling? I mean it's not like I'm doing this to make money so what's the harm in "wasting" some in tourney.

i agree with the making a final table part... it feels great!
however, it takes so much things to go your way in a tournament to make it there, that it doesnt happen too often....
sometimes tournies drive you absolutely mad because of those hands you listed... and you can go ages without a halfway decent cash, due to the large fields and coinflips basically.... they can be very exhausting. also, after a long tourney journey where lots of things happened, i find it very hard to start all over again with the small blinds and going through all the stages of a tourney again soon after...
cash remains the favorite.......

Over the last 4 years, I've concentrated on cash games only and have made a good profit. Therefore, I kind of agree with your statement.kingetje wrote:sometimes tournies drive you absolutely mad because.... you can go ages without a halfway decent cash, due to the large fields and coinflips basically....
However, over the last 3 months, I've been playing 9,18 and 45 seater sng's only, and I can see why people enjoy tornys. I don't think I've had enough experience at torny's to comment, but I'm already seeing a small profit without a big risk.
At this momment in time, I'm not prepared to favour either cash games or tornys, but (baring in mind I'm traditionally a cash game player), I'm actually starting to favour tornys.
(Admittedly, I also understand that 45 seaters don't qualify as a 'large multi-table tornys', but they are imo, closer to tornys than they are to cash games)

Maybe I just have a very short attention span. I've skipped around from FL, to NL, to SNGs back to NL, to MMTs then back to NL.
My B&M MMT ROI (arrrrgg abbreviation overload) is pretty poor but on-line I've done very well and maybe that's why this cold streak is annoying me so much.
