the windows can't be resized... and they can't be maximized (thus making the window the appropriate size for ones screen). the only options i have available to me is minimize and restore.

is there something i'm missing here so that i can resize the window so that the bottom portion of my table screen isn't always hidden behind my taskbar?

if all else fails you can change your screen resolution ....
start >> control panel >> display >> settings >> and change the screen resolution to 1024x768 (or higher) pixels should do the trick.

all i do is at the begining of the session i right click on the toolbar and click properties and then check the box for auto hide taskbar. this makes the toolbar disappear unless you go to the very bottom of the page then it will pop up. this should give u plenty of room for the window.
