running out of money at the blinds

Postby blue eyes » Fri Nov 14, 2003 10:00 am GMT

here is one question I know some of you know the answer to, but requires a few answers for a few diferent scenerios,

If the player one, the small blind, loses all his money during the round, does the player 2 become the dealer in the next round, therefore saving having to post the small blind ? Please respond as specific as possible as I have thought of a few different combinations regarding this type of scenerio.

If the player 3 goes out during a round, does player 4 have post the big blind in the next round, or

if player 2 goes out and player 1 go out in the same bettng round, does player 3 get to be dealer and therefore he skipped both blinds, and player 4 only has to post the small blind, missing his big blind,

thanks guys

Depends where you play-I have seen several different scenarios. At a card club if someone leaves in a blind position, they can have 2 bigs or 2 smalls. The player on the button will have it twice in a row. No matter what happens, if you are seated you WILL pay a big and small blind each round

Some online sights have it where you can miss a blind if someone drops out. Their button moves around the table and the blinds are to the left and 2 spots to the left. If someone gets up on the button or small, then a blind is skipped. Nice bonus in a big tourney when the blinds are a large percentage of your stack!

So if you are curious for a home game-set a rule and stick with it.

the way ive always done it is deal goes around the table, blinds are the first and second spots to the left of the dealer, if you get up you post the blind but get folded soon...

small blind gets folded once its their turn to call/fold/raise
big blind can play for free if nobody raised pre-flop...
