SnG Win Rate
Do any of you play a lot of one or two table Sit 'n' Go tournaments? If so, do you make money on them overall? A lot? Just barely?
I'd won a $215 buy in to the PS Sunday Millions (with FPP) which I converted to tournament dollars. Because of time constraints I've used almost all of the money on one-table $5 & $10 SnGs. With $45 left I've won $150 in SnG play. I've cashed about 1/4 of the games and have won all but two of the cashes. I also get very deep (bubble or one off the bubble) in a LOT of the games when I don't cash.
I hadn't played a lot of NL tournys before and these have been a lot of fun and a relatively cheap way to play for an hour or so in the NL format. (My usual game is $1/2 or $2/4 FL ring games.)
Anyway, does anyone out there play NL SnGs as their 'usual' game? If so, can you beat them on a predictable basis?
(While there is a wide range of hands I see people go all in with in these tournaments I am continuously amazed at the bizzare hands that people will CALL an all in with.)

I played almost nothing but $11 - $33 SnG's last summer for two months and maintained a consistently high ROI on them, so yes, they can be profitable. I just discovered that other things have been more profitable for me.
fwiw, my average ROI on Sharkscope is listed as 37%, but honestly, I think that's unrealistically high and that I've run better than normal. I haven't played nearly as many SnG's as many. But still, low limit SnG's are probably still beatable for an ROI as high as 25%, maybe more.

Isn't this Terrific Though?

But isn't this a great performance? My recollection is that the Stars one table SnG payout structure pays at least twice the buy-in for a third place cash. I know that 1st place is half the buy-in (not counting the rake).
If this streak is representative you must be in clover. (You'd indicated an 8% ROI overall so obviously the 27 games you cite aren't representative long term, but that's still not bad. It's better than I'm doing at FL ring this month!!)

If 3rd place paid double the buy in, I'd be a very happy person. It usually runs a payout of 20%, 30%, and 50%. At $16 SnG's, that's $27 for third, so it's not that great.
If you want to grind up a roll, they're great because it teaches good bankroll management and it's harder to go on tilt, but expect to be paying a LOT in rake. When I used to grind $6 SnG's, rake was 50c, and I'd 8 table them, so that just adds too what you have to beat to come out on top.

I just got back into playing SNG's and MTT's. My stats were awful for quite some time so I went away from them for a while since ring play was my strength. Now I'm working my way back into them. I started with 3 single-table SNG's and cashed in 2 (1st & 3rd). Then the hubby suggested I play 2 or more table tourneys. So far, I've only played one 2-table SNG (I haven't had much time to play recently) and won it. I'll probably play another tonight. So far, since I redeposited, I'm in the black.
I do like that you can play longer with very little risk, but it's really tough for me, as a full ring player, to switch gears to tournament play. I'm focusing strictly on them right now to see if I can improve my game.
FWIW, the hubby plays single-table SNG's regularly and he seems to make a decent profit off of them. I don't have any specific stats though.
