So... What do you guys use to carry your chip sets in?

For those of you without a case? I have the 1,000 set deal from 5tar, which came with 10-arcrylic racks. I play in a rotating weekly home tourney, and the thought of taking dead mans curve at 50mph with the 10 racks next to me on the front seat scares the hell out me.

soooo...what do you guys put the racks in to take them places? Shoeboxes?, xerox paper boxes, gym bags????

i like the look of the racks myself. quite authentic casino looking.

i saw a site once that sold a cover thing that you could put over the rack. not sure which site it was though. i'll keep my eyes open for ya since it sounds like you need something that's transportation safe.

I purchased another set of the chip racks & covered the chips. I have a small suitcase that has a pull out handle on wheels that I use. It fits 2 rows deep & I cut a piece of card board to go between each row for better stability. Then fill the empty space with a towel. The pockets on the suitcase come in handy for the button, cards, etc...

I was considering gettting the 1000 from 5star deal with the racks. But then i look at pokerchipmart.com. You can get 2 set of a thousand for 188 bucks. Then just buy the nice racks for an extra 20 bucks

But the problem is,whar are you going to put the racks in :?: I thought about this.A nice sized dufle bag would work great. You can throw the racks and the 2 cases iof chips in it.

I think this will work out good.Any thoughts

I have the plastic racks too so Im making a wood carring case out of burl walnut and maple to house 1000 chips and the racks and all the other goodies. Once Im done with that Im making (2) 500 chip cases and spliting up my other 1000 chip set to sell on ebay. Hoping to cover the cost of the new set.

What I really need is a case that holds all the chips, cards, buttons, and a 12 pack. But I probably wouldnt be able to pick it up.

That's actually two sets of 500 (to make 1 set of 1000) for $188.

I use a small duffle bag but I like sunspots idea. Get an extra set of trays so you can sandwich the chips between 2 trays. Then get a small suitcase with wheels that is the right size to stack the double-tray-chip-stacks in. You could use cardboard or wood to make dividers so you can also fit your cards and everything else you bring with.
