solid play at what table limits?

Postby BrianGre » Tue Nov 25, 2003 12:13 pm GMT

This is an opinion question for those on the forum about what limit table should you have to get to before you see stable, solid play.

I've played the .01/.02, .10/.25, .25/.50, and .5/1 tables online... obviously I'm not doing this for a living.. :)

I've also played tournaments with buy-ins that vary from freeroll to $20+2.

What I've noticed -- and I think this is expected -- is that at the extreme lower limits you are getting play that is wild and care-free (raising every hand no matter what; calling with nothing; etc)..

I'm curious as to what limit I should work my way up to if I want to see play that is a little less ... well, crazy - for lack of a better word.

thanks for your thoughts!

I would say that every table has a mix of terrible and strong players. Just take advantage of some and be careful w/ the others.

There is a large difference between 3/6 and 1/2, but 3/6 to 2/4 can be similar.

There are two real-world casino's in my area. I also play at PokerRoom.com. The lowest limits available in the real-world casinos is $2/5 or $5/10. On the average, I have found that the play is noticeably more stable at the Internet card rooms even at the $1/2 tables than at the real-world casinos

wow... that surprises me a bit... I'd figure the crazier play for those who aren't face-to-face..

thanks
