Fold. You are looking for a 4 way hand. Something like AKJT etc. The 4 is too far away from the K and the T plus you have three clubs in ur hand.

As an Omaha noob also, if the 4 were [4s] does that change your opinion? While I appreciate that the 4 is dead for anything other than the flush, is drawing to a nut and second nut flush with three broadway cards a good place to get involved?

I've put in quite a few man hours at PLO8 & LO8 but I've never played Omaha Hi so I don't have a grasp on a good starting range at all :?

Not for me, no. If a lot of money goes in with a K hi flush chances are you will prolly be up against the nuts.

Think of it like this, You have

ABCD

You're 2 card combos are AB, AC, AD, BC, BD, CD. The 4 cannot connect with the K or the T so you have lost two of those combos. That's why you want to play 4 card combos like 5678, 5567. My only exception would be a hand like Ac5c67 where I have the nut flush draw.

I would play the hand miao posted if I was on the button and I was opening for a raise to steal the blinds.

In a 6-max game, I think it is sometimes/often fine to play this hand in position. IMO the conventional "4-way hand" wisdom is too tight for CO/Button in 6-max games, especially against bad players.

But, as crack said, I would prefer to open this hand rather than call a raise. As a new player, I would also fold it. I'd only call if I felt I had good control over the raiser (same as in Hold'em where you can play more hands in position). Since the guy in this hand limped, I'd want to know something about his tendencies.

But then again, I have a tendency to play too loose sometimes in PLO, so take with a grain of salt.

First hand. Depends how shit the player is because you will have position, but I still don't really like it. The K doesn't connect with the 5 or the 8. Just fold it pretty much.

2nd hand. Your OOP, you have no nut flush draws and the 6 is a dangler. This is a sort of hand that looks pretty but will get you into too much trouble, fold it.
