Starbucks Chipco Chips

Postby ledavatar » Fri Mar 25, 2005 12:29 am GMT

I've always loved the design of the starbucks logo. I think it would make a great Chipco chip (it even has a white outer ring standard on chipco!)

Of course, I imagine I would run into a few copyright issues...

Do you happen to know any history behind it?

Not really, a quick google search showed the logo evolution. Apparently they had to hide the mermaid's boobs as the company grew.

I wouldn't get a set of "starbucks coffee" chipco chips, but it would be cool if they offered them as promotional items. I did email starbucks about them, but they don't seem to be too interested. I got the generic "thanks for your suggestion" reply.

Wow, with those three logos, you've already taken care of the $25 chip, the $100 chip, and the $1, err I meant, 25¢ chip!

I've read so many posts about blue and white $1 and $0.25 chips I don't even know what I like anymore...

Sh!t brown for $1 chips. That way no one will want to use them.

Jeez, you're right. That logo would be a perfect non-denom Chipco (and the older logos, too, though I won't comment on blue vs. white vs. warm brown...) But bring back the boobs.

This idea makes me ill. It's not bad enough that they're on their way to outdoing Mc Donalds with the most locations?

At least you brought the boobs back (sorta). If these were Chipcos they could have nipples on the front & back as well as on the side...

No numeric denominations on the chips. They should simply be labeled Tall, Grande and Venti.
