Startup Table Lurkers
I have noticed 3 or 4 players at the lower fixed limit ring tables I usually play who will start up multiple tables simultaneously and just wait for opponents to come along and join. You can get into the tourny lobby and see anywhere from 3-8 tables all with just one registered player and it will always be the same player. A guy named JoshBradford from Tallahassee will be in the 3/6 and 2/4 tables a lot, some other bozo from Redondo Beach will start up eight 2/4 tables at once and a guy called WoShoWu will also do this regularly at the 2/4 level.
I've never gotten into a table with WoShoWu or the Redondo Beach guy but JoshBradford always has a predictable style. If he is heads up through 4-players he will raise/reraise every hand and just push-push-push. He might stick around a while but generally once the table gets to 7-8 players he is out of there.
Is it worth mixing it up with these guys? I never play 6-max or heads-up tables but I don't mind joining a short-handed table expecting it to fill up. I've lost a lot of money to JoshBradford when his push-push-push style got lucky against my strong hand. (He raised preflop with A6 off, I reraised with pocket kings and he ended up with trip sixes.)
I can see why someone would regularly start up tables to create a continuous stream of short-handed games where a pushy style will work against a player who is not looking for or used to playing in short-handed tables. But why create a long list of tables?

I have noticed this over the years, some of these players drop out when the table starts to fill, its just a style that works for them. so you need to have a good counter strategy if you intend to take them on at their game.
