Stateregy for NL game Tonight
OK Playing in a NL hold em game tonight. $5 buy in. 5 people. Winner gets $20 and 2nd places gets $5. everyone gets 30 chips. Ante is 1 chip. All chips worth the same. What is a good way of playing this game? What hands should I play? Should I fold if its less then pocket face cards? Please Help Thanks.

Well thats just a stupid way to play poker... mine as well play high card or something. If I had to give you advice, it would be wait for any pocket pair , any hand with an ace or any hand with a king with the kicker at least ten and go all in. If you acquire some chips then you should play more tightly and only play really good hands and occasionally see a flop. Using this stratedgy will give you an edge over your opponents because they are awful poker players. I know this because they agreed to those silly rules. If you lose, don't be upset because you probably will. It's a crapshoot. Good luck
O btw, if 3 of your opponents are maniacs and are just asking to give their chips away, fold until they do so, and take second place happily.

You need a small blind/big blind.
The losers in our tournament get together to play loser games. They do a 20 or 40 chip total with a 1 chip/ 2 chip blind with no ante. Every time someone goes out, they increase the small blind by one chip (big blind is always double the small). They like it cause it is fast and other players that are put ot of the main game can get in on the next one.
