strategy for single rebuy live tournament
In a couple of weeks I'm going to play a €100 + 1 time single rebuy. Am not sure about the structure yet.
what is the best strategy? Do we rebuy as it starts or do we keep it as a safety net incase we lose a big pot?
Does it matter what the rest of the tabl/feild does?
Am thinking if its a normal structure (50XBB deep) that rebuying directly might not give us such a big advantage (unless we manage to double up through someone else who rebuy)
Its not the money, as I am going to rebuy for sure, even if I'm the cheap leadr by the end of rebuy period.

reason ? reason is if u gonna play a big pot u want to win the maximum
1 rebuy 1 adddon is basically and optional deep stack mtt
and not to rebuy if possible is giving away value
since if u think ur -EV to play then u shouldnt play at all
and if u want more reasons from top ranked online mtters
look at that forum with rankings and search for 1 rebuy 1 addon threats there have been plenty of those around

I agree. Rebuy as soon as possible. Whenever I play rebuy tournaments, I automatically put in my head that the tournament is twice the buy-in than it says. If you don't rebuy, I can assure you everyone else will and you'll be the shortstack even if you're doing well.

in normal unlimited rebuy there is no doubt that rebuying when ever possible is the best tactic.
And if most people on my table rebuy, I guess rebuying is the right play as well. Though being short stack (to me) is more stack/blinds ratio. I really do not mind playing against bigger stacks if my M is big enough, especially if I have an extra life.
That said, I doubt most people will rebuy. Without ever playing a live rebuy event I'm going to guess that at least 30% of the players will not rebuy at all.

The last rebuy event I played, everyone rebought with the exception of 4 players. This was a 6-table rebuy tournament (60 players). This may not always be the case, but the few I've played I've seen crazy action in the first blind level because the safety net of the rebuy is there and nearly every player rebuy and add-on.

I recently got in a $10 rebuy via satellite. Got in using FPPs only. I couldn't believe it. I don't have the exact numbers, but about 1600 entered and there were over 3000 rebuys and an additional 1000 addons at break.
I just think it's crazy to do this. Just me, though.
At first I didn't realize it was a rebuy, and I was playing a few other tables and not really paying attention and all of the sudden everyone on the table had a bunch more chips than me. I was a bit confused at first.
Anyway, I was doing pretty well, but my big stack kept getting proportionally smaller. Uphill battle to say the least.
FWIW - I cashed without a single rebuy. It was tough and I got REAL lucky once (TT push vs. QQ and rivered a set).
