Stupid River

Postby PuckJunkieNY » Thu Apr 15, 2004 2:42 pm GMT

Ok, last night after my internet connection was lost during home stretch of tourney (see my Damn! Damn! Damn! post) I decided to play a ring game b4 going to bed. I buy in w/only $10 this time...win a few, lose a few. Decide to play until BB is about to hit me. The hand before it does (therefore my last) i get KJs, I limp, one raise 2x the BB (bb was .25). one other caller besides me. Flop comes K J 7 rainbow....whoopie! P-flop raiser bet $1, other dude calls, I raise all-in $8.....they each call (both have larger stack so play goes on). Turn = Q (OK I can deal w/it)...no betting. River = 10, CRAP!.....both go all-in....original raiser dude flips AA for the straight! Other dude mucks....Mr. AA appoligizes...I say "thats UB" ....I go to bed with w/a slight chip on my shoulder.

OK It's out of my system now...thanks.

No biggie really...only lost $10
I really write this stuff down as an outlet...Sometimes I'll write it out, but not even post it cuz it's served it purpose already.

Good...then bad...played some SnGs (mistake) so I'm down a little-but I'll bring it back up playing micro-limit. I can 2x the Max Bet almost always there.

You gotta love the river, right? I was playing a NL points table, and was up a few hundred to like 1500. Im one to the left of the BB, decide that this is my last hand before the cards are dealt. I am dealt J6. I should tell you that J6 is an AUTO hand for me. In our home game, the first guy to win a pot w/ J6 wins a bottle of bourbon. so the flop comes JJ2. SWEEEEEEET. I check, and there is some small betting, and I call. The turm brings a 2nd club, 10 I think. I decide that I dont want to give anyone a chance to hit a cheap flush, so I bet 2x the pot, which is like 500 points. I get raised?????? so I move in. We flip. Me J6, Him AQ clubs GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR 4 of clubs on the river. I LOVE the river. It is ok though, Because I still ended up 500 points ahead.

He probably had banked UB pts. to piss away and not a real risk for him.

Ya know, the only time I play for river draws like that dude did is when I'm way up for the day. I just can't bring myself to play like that way normally, that is unless I see it very cheaply.

I have not played ring for pts. in a while, only Pts. SNG's.

Hmm I used to post those here, but then we were told not to post bad beats because they are boring and nobody cares.
