RPT Label Designs (Round 2) Opinions Please

This is a follow-up post to my original post about a problem with creating curved text in Adobe Illustrator. I think I solved that problem and am about to go final with my label production. Original post was at

Here is the current design. Note that the images on screen are a little washed out looking from the scanner glare. Actual chips are much brighter. More info follows the images.



After hours of agonizing, study, and analysis and a lot of helpful comments from members of this forum my daughter hit on the problem. The pinched look for the second lines of text ("Card Room") reported in my original post was actually an illusion. It turns out that the descender in the "y" in "Larry's" combined with the ascenders in "Card Room" (the two capital letters and the "d") created the illusion of 'off-round'. In this version I converted the top two lines of text to all caps to eliminate the descenders/ascenders and reduced their font sizes for fit. I am very happy with this appearance. And, as I said, I'm almost ready to go final with production. Couple of things left to do:

1. Need to tweak the text color on the purple chip to be closer to the light green edge spot.

2. Forgot to do one transformation on the "Card Room" text on the yellow chip. If you'll look closely you'll see it is slightly further away from the upper line than on the other chips.

I know that some of these labels aren't quite centered. I'm making these mock ups using Avery 5410 removable 1 in labels at 12 to a 4 x 6 in sheet and printing on our HP 895CSe inkjet printer. Final production will be on a color laser printer at the local copy shop on permanent waterproof 1 in labels from onlinelabels.com (thanks PocketRockets). I didn't spend too much time trying to perfect placement on the mock ups. I've got the labels in hand, two cans of Krylon matte spray, almost finished designs, and my RPT chips at about 0.13 each (thanks again to PocketRocket). Now I need to make up my final production sheets, tweak the alignment to the printer, go final, and put them on. Hmmm... sounds like a lot of work still to go.

Finally, the yellow and black chips are the mainstays of my set with typical buy-in either 50/10 yel/blk or 50/30 yel/blk. Purple are for coloring up and white are if I need to make the yellow = the big blind and need 'change' for the small blind. I got a few of the greens just to have around.

Wonderful job man, I really like them. IT strengthens my idea of making a set of "hunting" chips with wildlife motif. a bass on the low denom and a moose on the high one.
