I haven't stopped playin poker in the last month, online ALL the time, games at least twice a week. I'm struggeling to learn the trick to finding out other players tells. I play with all amatuers including myself, and I hear it is hardest to read them because they are the most unpredictable. Anywhere I acn start, or get me going. It aggrivates me that they can win and I'm explaining to them why a flush beats 3 of a kind. Rolling Eyes

Tells online are very difficult to identify or even read correctly dude. This is the main area where online poker lacks severely against real life poker cos not only can u not read others, u cannot put up the kinda front u want for them to read.

The only real tells I have found are:

Quick calling. If a player calls quick when it is their turn (eg they have pressed the auto-call button) then u can read into that that they are playing a strong hand. This works either pre-flop or after some commmunity action bcos u can read whether they have a pocket pair/top pair, 2 pair, flush etc.

Stoopid raising the turn card. This also translates to the river card but not so well. Regardless of the flop, I find that very bad players will often raise a turn card that they pair heavily especially if it is high (eg Q,K,A) with no regard for hiding that they have made the pair. This works quite well I find but it's not exactly foolproof.

Pot betting in a NL game. This is pretty much a new thing I've noticed at UltimateBet.com since they introduced the 'Bet Pot' option. I find that players with a genuinely strong hand will choose this option to keep the pot building exponentially bcos they are very sure they will win it. Again, this can be a tactic used by idiots but it's worth noting I feel.

The best way to get tells on people is to be very observant for the first 20mins of a tourney or so. U can always spot the real aggressive players and the passive players who like to call only and never raise pre-flop pretty quickly and u can quickly work out people's betting strategies in certain flop situations bcos bad players tend not to mix things up at all.

This is in no way an exhaustive list or even that useful but it might be a start 4u Wink
