The Poker Club = Major Upgrade...

Postby ORGrinder » Fri Mar 12, 2004 9:39 pm GMT

i play at the poker club... i've mentioned before why i like it, i won't bother rehashing that again...

but, they've majorly upgraded their software. it was awesome to login tonight and see the change. the graphics are hugely improved.

so i goto their website... and they've done a major upgrade of that too!

always nice to see improvement in the place you visit.

:D

I dont think Ive seen your post about the poker club. I want to read it to see why you like it. Ill try a search and see if I can find it. Im not sure about the website address either. Might help shorten things if you could post the url here for me :) Thanks.

sorry gents.... didn't want to come off like i was advertising for them... i know how well that sort of thing flies... and i wouldn't be makin anything of of y'all anyway so i skippped it.

www.thepokerclub.com is the url. although if you had never visited it before today... you won't get the full on wow factor at the change. it was pretty basic before (graphicly speaking). they've made some MAJOR graphic improvements.

as for the software itself... like the website, it used to be quite bland. the upgrade is awesome. short of being able to select your own image... it's right up there with UB now as far as graphics go (in my opinion anyway). the pokerroom still has kewler graphics i suppose... and i think TP is still the best graphicly speaking out there (you've got to be able to afford to play there though)... but this place now ranks right up there with the better sites as far as graphics go.

i like this site because they have the best customer service out of any of the poker sites i've ever joined. a number of times now i've needed to contact customer service for one thing or the other... and via their live chat, they have resolved my question every time. no waiting no fuss... it's done. i can't tell you how valuable that is in my opinion. that's the main reason... although now with their phat upgrade... there's even more reason for me to like them.

oh... and lastly, they had (not sure now that they've upgraded... i'll have to check) a no-minimum deposite requirement with neteller. 1, 5, 10 bucks... it was all good. for someone like me not interested in spending a lot of cash at an online table... this was perfect. i tossed in 10 bucks and have been havin fun pokin around at the 2cent tables for a while now.

anyway... i've gone on long enough. hope that answers your questions.

Hi, I play there all the time - just through a different skin.

I don't have the new software yet though I've always liked the old software. Haven't seen the new features, I though from the screen shots that it was just a different look and not the vast improvment that you are talking about.

A number of the people are having trouble with the new software. It is crashing in the middle of a hand. Some people tell me once they have a table open, they can't do anything else like view the lobby, join another table, or going to the cashier without it crashing.

How it is working for you?

i've had none of the problems you speak of. the software was working 100% for me last nigh... and i was at one of the more populous tables the site has.

as for the vast improvement... it really IS the vast improvement based on what i said before. like i said in my previous post... it's a graphical change... not a function change. the graphics are HUGELY better than they once were. if you don't consider the new graphics a "vast" change i sure as hell don't know what could ever impress you. hehehehe.

bumber to hear about your friends having problems. i didn't have anyone bitching at my table about any problems and all of us were having a great time on the new software... 100% problem free.

now... are you SURE you play on the same network? cuz i know (see my other thread) there's a number of places that share the same network but have different software. 3 of these are the trny network, poker shootout, and netpoker24. i'm sure their are others though. i know that my play on these sites has been LESS than enjoyable lately due to problems similar to what you speak of. i think they're trying to make some changes to the software at those places too and aren'thaving very good luck at keeping thing stable.

Relax man. I am absolutely sure I play there. Check the Platinum Club member list out.

I didn't know exactly what changes you were talking about so I was asking. I finally decided to download the new software and check it out. There are 11 sites/skins now. I go through americanpokerclub.com and as far as I know the new software has only been rolled out on the thepokerclub.com website.

The major improvement in the new lobby/main menu. Yeah, the new look and layout is incredible.

When I suggested that I wasn't that impressed it was because I had seen the screen shots of the tables only. While the lobby changes are a quantum leap, the tables changes are decent. I'm not the biggest fan of the color scheme used, perhaps when they roll it out to the other skins, there will be some better color schemes to choose from.

I'm glad you had no problems with the software, but definately some of other people at the table were getting locked up and timed out. There are a few bugs to be worked out. Hopefully, they will get those fixed soon. The one that kept happening to me when sometimes when I call a bet (it seemed to be when I completed from the SB), it would bring me to Cashier Deposit screen.

I did notice that things seemed better today. No one was getting timed out or complaining. So maybe they've already fixed a few of the bugs.

didn't mean to come off intense... i wasn't upset or anything. LOL

what's interesting is that you say on your site all you got upgraded was the lobby but not the tables.

on thepokerclub... only my tables were upgraded. the lobby is still the same. and i'm unable to select a new skin.

who knows how or why they roll things out the way they do. i look forward to the new lobby though... the screen shots look great.

ya. TP = TruePoker.

it has, by far, the best graphics of any of the poker sites. i think their cheapest table though is 1/2... so if you're a cheap seat kinda guy (like me) they're simply out of ones price range.
