This may be over-analyzation but I don't think you played it bad at all (from the perspective that I don't know how any of these guys play). I mean, after dogballs' 500 bet into the 300 pot you can really only put him on a set of 6's or perhaps pocket 3's or 4's for the two-pair. Knowing this, why not just go all-in post-flop? All-in here could easily convince the table of a flush draw push. You're going to get called 90% of the time by dogballs' range of hands and almost surely get paid off.

Assuming this, if you call here there are a good number of scare-cards on the turn: the 3, 4, 5, 7, 8, and A. That's a lot of cards. If you standard raise 1000-1500 to 1500-2000 total, your short remaining stack basically puts you all-in on the turn regardless of how dogballs acts on the turn.

Pocket 6's behind me is not even a possibility to me at this point. You did fine and just got unlucky with getting called by Willadsen's pocket 6's behind.
