Told Every Hand And Won - Unbeleivable
Hi Guys,
Just had to share this bizzare event as I don't think it could ever be repeated.
I was sat in a 6 player $5/10 NL Texas Hold'em SNG and 3 hands had been played.
I was interupted by my wife saying that something had come up and we needed to leave so I had to quit the game.
I posted in the chat feature of the poker room that I was going All In on the next hand blind as I needed someone to take my chips so I could leave. I also stated it wasn't a bluff.
That didn't work, as someone went all in with me and I beat them.
I resorted to telling everyone my hand before betting took place and then going all in.
Long story short - I folded every good hand, I told everyone what I was holding when it was rubbish hands, waited for the OK from someone that could beat it, and went all in on every one, showing every hand at the end.
I won every hand with ridiculous cards and came away the winner.
I wish I had that kind of luck when I was playing to win. Perhaps from now I should play to lose.
Absolutly Bizzarre.

I am truly sorry if I have broken some poker code of conduct. I have been playing for about 5 weeks in 6 handed ring games and only 2 days ago decided to give SNG's a try.
When I have wanted to leave a ring game, I just finish my hand and then leave, but it seems that you are in a tournament until you run out of chips.
I needed to leave the game, and thought that the quickest way was to offer up my chips the only way I could think of.
Please post this newbie the correct procedure for getting out of the tourney without breaking the rules.
Again, please accept my apologies. Nobody in the game chastened me at the time, so I wasn't aware it was wrong.

Close the table, turn off your computer and go do the thing you needed to do. Your player will be sat out online and be blinded off til all your chips are gone. Job done.
Just so you know, telling people your hand in a real life setting will not go down well but doing it online really does not matter and the guys are ragging on you with tongue firmly in cheek........

anyone saying his hand when there is still action should get their chat taken away

Thanks Geno for the advice, and for letting me know just how green behind the gills I am for not realising people were ragging me.
All of you that did rag me, it was no less than I deserve for breaking the rules and so I am happy that you have had a laugh at my expense.
I'll try and observe proper etiquette in future.
As I have said, I am new to poker, and have learnt a great deal from this site and forum, and appreciate the wealth of knowledge you are all willing to share with us beginners. ( Even if it is a bollocking / ragging for doing something stupid like showing your cards
).
Keep up the good work, and I'll keep learning the game.
Cheers
