Top 2 pair laydown probly incorrect

Postby Ciso_B » Thu Jul 30, 2009 8:43 pm GMT

This guy had been pretty cagey, and when he c/r me here, was really not loving it.I felt like his range stemmed down to AT or QJ and since I had him as cagey i thought maybe he wouldn't even c/r AT here, feels like a horrific laydown tho top 2 pair, literally only qj beats me here, since i doubt he ever has a set. This has to be a bad laydown right?

I'd be left with 15k if im wrong, bb only 350,im gettin 2-1 on the turn aswell... i just could see him turnign over the nuts here, he seemed like the kinda guy that would play all them broadway cards, which is why AT and QJ are most definitely in his range despite my pf raise.

I don’t mind the fold 65% of the time here.

For fold
-You have a good stack left, if the table is weak wait for a better spot to get that many those chips in.
-A made straight could do this fearing the flush draw
-The likelihood is that a PF raiser holds an ace, so why bluff when you probably just improved?
-Some players do like speculation hands JTs, QJ, KQ, from late position.
-Your only 1 in 10 to make the FH if he has it.
-The flush draw would probably have come over the top on the Flop when he had more cards to improve with rather than the Trun. So a made hand is more likely here I think.
-Could he make this move with AQ spades? Has he underestimated your strength?

What do you think of checking the turn?
