Re: Top 5 books - ... and storytime?
I've been doing some more reading and I'd like to recommend a few more:
1. The World According to Garp - John Irving
2. Love in the time of Cholera - Gabriel Garcia Marquez
3. The Old Man and the Sea - Ernest Hemingway
4. Metamorphosis - Franz Kafka
5. The Book of Laughter and Forgetting
or The Unbearable Lightness of Being
or Immortality - Milan Kundera

Re: Top 5 books - ... and storytime?
hmm
not necessarily a definitive top 5 list but these are up there for sure
Galapagos - Kurt Vonnegut jr. my absolute favourite of his.
The Sorrows of Young Werther - Goethe - a classic in literature
Nevermind the Pollocks: A Rock N' Roll Novel - Neal Pollack (this book is so entertaining, all fiction using real names. It's about a Music Journalist and it goes through pretty much every decade of music and criticizes alot of crap music. Just read it if you are a fan of music, great great great read)
The f*ck - Arthur Nersesian - about a guy who pretty much destroys his life with bad decisions and too much indifference. It's also, really funny.
Long Days Journey Into Night - Eugene O'Neill not a novel but unbelievable nonetheless.

I think some of you would be better of reading Dick and Jane Go Swimming....it might be easier reading for the mods of this forum...
