Tournament hand need some good hand analysis pls :(
Right. Tournament play i am one of the 2 big stacks with 13k chips (starting 7k). I am BB with 910 off suite.
Had a good read on almost anyone (loose/agressive types)but this new guy that played like 2 hands.Anyway 2 guys call.
Blinds 150/300
Flop : 10, 9, 2 rainbow
I bet 900, new guy calls and the other one folds.
Turn is a 10 and i have a FH. I bet 1600 trying not to scare him that much in case hes on a backdoor straight draw.
River is a K. And i bet 2000 chips. He goes into a little speech and says " You had two pair and now a fullhouse"? Or maybe your just bluffing. He thinks about it a bit and he goes all in. I think about 10 secs and i call. He had KK
Anyway i am just wondering did i do something bad here? I was 95% on the turn but couldnt put him on KK. He didnt raise preflop and i thought since he had like 60% of my chips that he just wants to bluff.
Now what do you think? What was my mistake? Calling? Betting? Bad reading?
The only mistake i propably did was i didnt take hes little speech into consideration. If you know i got 109 or 99 why the hell you go all in? It did cross my mind a bit but i called

Maybe the most reliable tell there is, players hardly ever mention a hand that beats them.
From an Ed Miller article in CardPlayer:
If players start talking about hands you could have, they'll almost never mention a hand that beats them. If they think that you might have a set of aces, and they can't beat it, they'll keep their mouths shut and hope that you decide to fold. If they start talking about your aces, they aren't worried about them. Thus, when he asked if I had aces, I was pretty sure that he could beat a set. Since I didn't think a straight was likely, I thought he almost certainly had a flush.

That is exactly what i thought afterwards. Why do you mention a hand that beats you. I just wish 2 things. I played more hands with the guy and second was to read the article prio to the tournament. Indeed a very good article :D
I think my problem here was overconfidence. I won a tournament and some good cash (in just 1 month that i play in casinos) even though i play poker for a year or so and today i was sure i would do great today as well.
I also did some pretty good reads today (busted some bluffs with Ace high and an amazing read that my opponent had AK when flop was AK7 and i was A7) and some pretty good semi-bluffs and bluffs with reraises. I got too much confidence on the table and that hand really steamed me. And not only it steamed me but it also made me cripple. If i wasnt that confident on that table i would think about it a lot more. Its really hard to fold the nuts anyway
He had like 6% and he called on the turn 1/4 of his stack. Thats pure evil!
My downfall after reaching 6k chips again in 4 hands later after few all ins (won AK vs KK and stole some blinds) was pocket 33s went all in on a raise(preflop) guy had K10 spades and hit a flush on the river. I wouldnt propably go all in with 33s but i sensed some weakness and needed those blinds+ i was steaming so bad. The guy actually thought i was just bluffing because it was my first hand on a new table and he was largest stack.
Anyway thats poker :D
