OK, sound....
Well, you can listen for yourself if you go to http://www.pokerchipreviews.com/chipreviews.html and play John's videos. The TRKings are on Chip Comparison #2, but listen to them all.
I think the TRKs sound almost the same as Paulsons. Not exactly the same, but close. They sound a little bit higher (more treble) to me, and a little bit "harder," although that word doesn't exactly fit.
Certainly the TRKs sound to be of equal quality IMO, not like the cheap plastic dice chips.
As far as being thinner, TRKs aren't -- at least the samples I have. According to my calipers, they are exactly the same thickness (within a few 1000ths of an inch) as the Sample Paulson JBs. But some of my real casino chips (especially older Paulson standard inlays) are a hair thicker than either the TRKs or the JBs, but again in the 1000ths of an inch range. And some well-used old casino chips are a hair thinner.

I don't have any JB Paulsons to compare, but T.R. Kings sound the closest to my Foxwoods Paulsons of any chip I have - much duller "thud" than Blue Chip and ASM; those sounds a little higher-pitched to me. They do have good heft too, noticably heavier/denser than Blue Chip and ASM and probably a tiny bit heavier than the Foxwoods Paulsons. They are a quality chip, and as long as you likes the mold style and looks, I do not think you would be disappointed with the sound and feel. Definitely my favorite chips.
Now WHERE are my custom Kings Crowns?!?!?! The suspense is starting to get to me.

I'm thinking of calling him tomorrow and tell him I'll pick mine up. That way I can take pics of yours before they even go out.
