UB Aruba Super Satellites question
Hey all:
I generally play at PS but heard about the Aruba super satellites at UB and decided to check it out. I played a 22 + 2 Satellite and won a buy in to a 100 + 9 super satellite. My question is regarding the rebuy/ addon which PS doesn't seem to have very often.
In the Aruba Super Satellite, can you only rebuy if you go broke or are under TC 1000?? In which case it would rarely be worth it to me. However, if you can do an add on no matter what your chip count that could be useful. Can anyone explain the format and requirements?? UB's site doesn't seem to explain it very clearly. Thanks for your help.

As far as I know (and DO NOT take this as their policy) u have to be below $1000 or broke like u say.
This prevents the super rich people buying their way to Aruba which would undoubtably happen judging by some of the crazy players u get on the $40/$80 tables at UB!
Good luck with ur game, u got this far so make sure u go all the way

Thanks for the advice. Actually, I am worried that if UB allows add ons people will take advantage as you stated. If they do I would actually be at a severe disadvantage by not buying the extra TC. Hopefully that is not the case.
I plan on playing tight, tight, tight. With a little luck. . . .? We will see.
Thanks again!

I have played 3 local satalites w/ rebuys and addons ($40 in, $30 rebuys and $30 one time add on after 3rd rounds). After 3 rounds (1st hour) no more rebuys or addons.
For the 1st 3 rounds people are much more likely to go all in w/ poor hands. And if 2 people are all in, one or 2 more are likely to follow. If you have strong cards, even if it isnt the nuts, dont be afraid to go all in. Often people are just looking to build a stack early for when the blinds are higher later. The 1st hand last Sunday 2 people went all in w/ pocket As, another called w/ KJ suited and a fourth followed w/ 89 suited.
As far as optional rebuys, take them whenever you can get them. I just factor add ons into my entrance fee. If you dont rebuy, do it w/ the knowledge that most others will-giving them an advantage. Also-if you start w/ $1000 and can get a rebuy at the start even before the 1st hand, take that one too. You may not need it, but think to the end of the tournament-if you the blinds are $10,000 and $20,000 and you have $29,500-that extra $1000 could get you another 10 hands allowing the blinds to take out 10-20% of the remaining players w/ less than the blinds.
You are almost to Aruba! Good luck!

Hmmmm,
Gives me alot to think about. I guess that I'll add th $$ to my UB account (I only put in $25 initially to play the satellite). If its there, I can use it if necessary.
However, If you can only rebuy if you go broke its not worth it because the rebuy is $100 (buy in $100 + 9) If I'm broke and rebuy, I have $1000 TC, but the other remaining players have substantially more. I'd be better off just buying directly into a new Super Satellite for the same $$. At least then I am even with everyone else.
Oh Well, I guess that I'll just play it by ear. Thanks for the advice and I'll let you know what happens.
