UB insanity - Pocket Aces in 3 of 9 hands

I sat at a .15/.25 UB NL holdem ring table with $10 pushed it to $28 very slowly with a few playable hands. I was getting ready to call it quits and get some sleep, so tell myself I'll play ten more hands only.

I get AA the next hand, but the flop comes up a dangerous QQK with 6 hands still live. It was bet up huge with two all-ins b4 it hits me. I fold. Six hands pass with garbage holes....the next two hands come up AA in my hole. I win the first for $4.85 on a small raise after flop. I win the second for $12 when my set turns up on flop and I'm bet into. Love when that happens.

What are the odds of catching AA holes in 3 of 9 hands? I'm not complaining mind you, but that's just crazy azz odds!


BTW-
I kept getting good cards so I played a little past my self promissed ten hands only :D
In the next five hands I won 3 more.
- I had JTs and flopped 89Q rainbow...win for $11.55
- My A7s was paired on flop , then turned into a 8 high straight on river....win $6.45
- Played a J2s on BB and won $10.20 with it

A few more hands and called it quits finishing with a nice profit off the orig. $10 buy-in.
Glad I stayed up.

Very nice indeed!! You did say you caught rockets twice in a row, right?? The probability for that was 1 in 195364 (Getting them once is 1 in 442). Pretty nice!!

Does this mean you are done w/UB for good?

I know you usually play the SNG's, but you should try some of the smaller NL rings. If I can hold my own and turn a small profit on a regular basis I KNOW you could do better. I like the SNG's too, but play more NL ring games. They fund all my multi and SNG buy-ins and you can accumulate ultimate pts. I play to win, but more for the love of poker and for fun. I do lose yes, but now I'm gettin more consistant, staying disciplined and starting to grow the roll a bit. It's a slow grow, but like I said it's more for my enjoyment/entertainment than a $ making venture.

I swear that if you're patient enough at those games you will finish up on a consistant basis. Of course you will get azz reamed here and there with mircles, but thats just gonna happen.

What I didn't mention in the original post was earlier at a different table I lost $10 of my $15 on a bad beat. I stuck around til the BB was gonna hit me, then switched tables. I still finised up for the night, but only modestly. Sometimes it's just helps to do that. Just so happens that the 2nd table was more suitable to my style and that I caught a very luck run of holes/flops. :D

getting them once is 1 in 220, so getting them twice in a row is 1 in 48400 :)

I was playing a single table tourney on pokerroom last night and this was all within about 10 hands. First i get QQ I bet and everyone folds, then two hands later i get AK offsuit, 3 hands later I get Ak suited, then AA , and then AA again, then like 3 hands later pocket jacks. I thought the system was like screwed up or something I won all of these hands except the AK offsuit so I was doing pretty well in the tourney at this point...finished 2nd.
