Kinda hard to tell but do you think the kid had a bone that had split his skin to cause the blood?

I remember in Feb 2005 when I did something very similar on a bike and coming down with all my weight on the side of my ankle. I didn't break it but I stretched both exterior ankle ligaments quite badly. I couldn't even begin to walk on it for days so I have no idea how that kid was standing

Those videos all hurt no doubt but this one is a proper OUCH moment. Enjoy
