Very stupid hi/lo question

Am I right in thinking that in ALL games involving a low hand, flushes and straights are completely ignored for the low hand? I guess they must be but I just want to be sure.........

No, actually there are some games where you are going for a "pure" low. In 2-7 Draw and Stud hi/lo with no qualifier, straights and flushes invalidate a low, so 75432 is the best possible low hand. However, these games are not commonly played today.

No burn cards in stud ... in fact there are too few cards in stud every so often when there are too many players seeing 7th there's a community river card

Actually, in most card rooms they do burn a card before dealing each street.
