Very stupid hi/lo question
Am I right in thinking that in ALL games involving a low hand, flushes and straights are completely ignored for the low hand? I guess they must be but I just want to be sure.........

No, actually there are some games where you are going for a "pure" low. In 2-7 Draw and Stud hi/lo with no qualifier, straights and flushes invalidate a low, so 75432 is the best possible low hand. However, these games are not commonly played today.

But all the split games that I'm familiar with do not penalize you for a straight or a flush.
Razz is played A-5, so straights and flushes do not count.

Actually, in most card rooms they do burn a card before dealing each street.
