Wanting Feedback on my Poker Table Design
Hey everybody my name is Daniel. This is my 1st posting. I just found this awesome website!
I am a Year 12 student that attends St Joseph's Catholic High School in Australia. Below is a picture of my Major Design Project which I completed for Design and Technology this year. As you can tell I am a very big poker fan hence my project, I was just wandering if you guys can give me some feedback with comments telling me of your thoughts on my design and what you think of it. Your positive comments will be greatly appreciated as I can use these comments for evaluation in my portfolio. Thanks!!
**please no inappropraite talk and/or swearing, or smart remarks because I can print this and use this in my folio for evaluation, so I want it to remain relatively professional**
The Table's Main Features:
*6' x 4' Poker Table - Seats Six People
*Plywood - Used for structure and racetrack finish
*Cup Holders - Stainless steel cupholders
*Rail - 1 inch thick high density foam on top of the plywood and covered in black vinyl
*Centrepiece - 1/4 inch thick medium density foam on top of plywood insert and covered in red felt
*Legs - Foldable legs for storage and transport

My only issue is the size-
If it is for Hold em you want to be able to seat 10- that is best done w/ a table that is 8 feet x 42 inches
If it is for 'regular poker' (6 man game) it should probably be 4 feet by 4 feet
The table looks great though, you do good work
If you want plans for a different racetrack table, pm me w/ your email

Very nice table and it looks well-constructed. Personally, the red felt would make my eyes hurt after a few hours of play, but may not have the same effect on everyone. The design is nice. This would be great for a friendly 6-handed poker game.

At least he has the Jim Beam to fall back on if the evaluation did not go well.

Very nice!
Perhaps too much arm-rest, this could get annoying for people like me b/c I generally end up with at least 3/4 of all the chips in play and I wouldn't have enough room to stack them all.

Lol, thank u everyone and yes i have already completed my assignment and HSC so everything is now over. I got about 86% for this subject (Design & Technology) which includes marks for the actual table, my folio work and my final exam so i was pretty happy with the result. Yeh i know the normal size tables are larger but for my home games i usually only have a maximum of 6ppl and if not, 2 more ppl could fit easily. And about the felt, the felt i purchased was pretty cheap anyways so i'm gonna pop the centre out and reline it with better material and a different colour. Any ideas on which colour is best ?

Color is personal preferance, but I like blue cloth to go with black rails (although I also have tables in burgandy and Green that look nice.)
I think that the 'Suited Speed Cloth' is the nicest stuff around. You can google it and get a lot of distributers

1. unless u did horrible on your final, you should have got a better grade because that is a really nice looking table.
2. If I were u, Id make a 10 person sized table just like that (maybe a diff color) and sell them online.
Nice work.
