What do they do with WSOP chips after a tournament?

Do they use them the next year or do they play with a fresh set every year? Of course if they retire them, do they sell them somewhere? Wouldn’t that be cool to have a set of chips that may have been handled by some the greatest players in poker?

i'd like some of the chips from the 03 wsop and the 88 main event so i could be like Chan :D but it would be in my basment poker room :D
