What do you do in this situation ?

Postby Northern Hillbilly » Wed Jul 21, 2010 8:45 pm GMT

Ok this isn't about a hand or anything but a IMO a misdeal. Today back at the jai lai poker room. I had been playing awhile. When they switched out the dealer. The new dealer dealt like 3 hands and I thought it was kinda sloppy dealing. When he deals the 4th hand I am UTG and BB first card and my first card land right in front of me. Like one hand. I didn't touch the cards I was waiting for him to finish when the BB reached over and took one of the cards.

When the dealer got back to me I told him it was a misdeal, and explained he said the deal was fine he was watching that card the entire time and that the guy in BB took the correct card. Seeing as I didn't have any money in the pot I just mucked my hand w/o looking and sat that hand out.

Others at the table were pissed off as well. Did I have the right to ask for a re deal, and should I have asked for the floor supervisor ?

I really don't even want to play at a table again with this dealer dealing. After that hand when he took the cards out of the shuffler he flipped 3 cards over when he fumbled the cut then picked them up hand shuffled cut and dealt again I think he did the wrong thing. Thankfully we didn't have him long and had good dealers the rest of the session.

Ended up wining 3 days in a row I have won, just small stakes 1/1 but I am making more in 3 days then at a minimum wage job for 5 days (which is only things available around here right now). As I am out of work it seems like a good supplement to my income .Hoping tomorrow goes just as well

If you think it is a miss deal, you have the right to say so, the dealer has the right to say it was a correct deal, you have the right to request the supervisor, the dealer should oblige, the supervisor would ask both you and the dealer what happened, the table may also be involved, any doubt, Miss deal, “shit I has AA”. You get both good and bad dealers don’t let them distract you from your game.
