This is not necessarily true, especially in low-limit. You can play an outstanding game, making all the right moves, and if the donkeys get lucky you can still lose. I'm afraid it is not always that simple.
Of course you can lose any hand, number of hands, weeks, or months...but when you are better than your opponents and the rake you will win eventually.

It is that simple, you're just not looking at enough hands.UPNCOMERNY wrote:"To be a winning player you need to play better then the competition. Its really as simple as that."

Over time, the better players will make money. Fact. Sure, the best players in the world have losing sessions but over 12 months they usually make more than they lose.
I could beat Phil Ivey if we only played one hand, but if I played him everyday for a month, I'm thinking he would probably come away with more money than me - (although it would be close - lol).

I cant really say anything better than what has allready been said but I will add something from my own experience of myself and friends and that is that it is very easy for bad luck to morph into bad play.
You have a bad run, get frustrated, using some weird logic that if your premium hands keep loosing to rubbish maybe playing rubbish is the way to go start playing badly, the actual process might differ from person to person but basically people get fed up with loosing playing solid poker, start playing bad poker, keep loosing and keep blaming thier run of bad luck long after it became more about bad play than bad luck. I have seen in in more than once.
You have to try however hard it is not to be to outcomes based and focus on playing good poker through the bad runs.

Actually, it's very true. Poker is a game of skill AND luck. Luck tends to balance itself out over the long run, and yeah, on any given hand you can lose no matter how well you play... but that's the way it goes. Over the long haul you DO have to play consistently better than your competition, otherwise luck rules and you will lose overall.
What to do when a donk gets a miracle suck out? Congratulate him on his skill, make a note of his name, and look for him in future games... his kind is gold.

play 120 tables at once and only play aces.
in theory you should get Aces once per hand (i think)
push each time

Just to be safe... wait until your pocket Aces are suited, that way you'll have a chance a nut flush LOL

I used to think playing consistently well/good poker or at least better than that of the opponents you play against, is what makes you a winning player.
Now im not sure, I know alot of the players I play against are nothing to shout about, but I lose all the time.
So either im dilluded about how well im playing, or playing well the great majority of the time isn't necessarily enough to be a consistent winner.

don't we have enough Ciso bad beat threads you need to hijack another thread?
And anyway, aren't you making money in this game? You choose a poker path where you are Destined to lose more times then you win, but when you win it usually covers up all your loses and then some.
So if you don't have the mentality to keep playing a game you're suppose to be losing on a regular basis (I know I don't) choose another path.
