What favorite or underdog am I???

Postby Tholgy » Tue Jun 02, 2009 5:04 pm GMT

Hi everybody!

One Question: Can somebody tell me a formula to calculate what favorite or underdog Iam?
Example: I hold 87s and have put my opponent on KK, he raises - Now I wanna know how mutch an underdog Iam (2:1 or 2,5:1 and so on) to see if the odds are worth calling?
Thanx

Click on "Poker Calculators" over on the left there, and click on "Texas Holdem Odds Calculator".

You can then input any number of hands, the board, and any dead cards, and calculate everyone's winning percentages.

Yeah, really what you need to do is run some standard scenarios such as two overs vs pocket pair, one over/one under vs two cards in the middle (eg A3 vs JT) etc etc and try and memorise the odds to an extent. Once you have a grasp of that, your pre-flop decision making will improve.

After the flop, there are good ways to calculate odds but I won't go into that here!

Wow, thank you guys for the quick answers!
If it's the only way, I'm going to run some
hands with the cpu and try to memorize them!
