what is good money management?
maikl10
I play 1/2 NLH and am a reasonable, competent player. When I play, usually I double up and then my session goes one of 2 ways: I
either keep going up and make a really good profit or I bust out. I think that I have a MAJOR money management prb, because how
could I buy-in for $200, and then usually go up to $400 ($200 profit), but then many times afterwards get felted?
What would you do in my situation in terms of money management, would you have a system, say, with my $200 profit situation, maybe
just put $100 at risk and use that as a buffer so that I can at least 'lock-in' $100 profit if I lose that $100 I'm putting at
risk? I'm not consistently winning and it must be due to my lousy money management that I can't take money off the table all the
time.

Re: what is good money management?
I swear you said on the other sub forum you played .1/.20 live but I am too lazy to check.
Br Management is generally 30-40 buyins needed. So if you are playing .5/1 with max buying of $100 you need $3k-$4k in order to handle the swings.
If you find yourself doubling up then getting felted then it could be because you are not adjusting to having more money in front of you or you are just not very good and you have fluked doubling up in the first place.
Adjust to the bigger stack or if you don't feel comfortable playing with more money then just quit?
